10 die mensis Novembris anni MMXIV

Salvete, amici!

Vicesimo secundo die huius mensis Latine loquentes Seattli commorabimur!

Vndecima hora matutina apud Summam Ollam (“Top Pot Doughnuts” 2124 5th Ave Seattle, WA 98121, 206-323-7841) conveniemus, ubi saepe antehac sumus congregati, ut unam fere horam sermocinemur.

In diem igitur vicesimum secundum!

Stephanus

Hi!

On the 22nd of this month we’ll be getting together to speak Latin in Seattle!

At 11:00 a.m. we’ll get together at Top Pot Doughnuts (2124 5th Ave Seattle, WA 98121, 206-323-7841, where we have often gathered before, to chat for about an hour.  We usual do our thing in the library part, which is upstairs.

At about noon we’ll go over to nearby Bell Thai (2211 4th Ave  Seattle, WA  98121, (206) 441-8488,) for lunch.  The prices there are really reasonable…although perhaps the students still might want to go to the Seattle Center Armoury where lunch can be gotten even more cheaply.

After lunch we’ll end up strolling to the Seattle Center in any case, describing various urban sites on the way, that is, if time and weather permit.  At 3:30 we’ll be seeing a short 3D IMAX film called “Titans of the Ice Age”.  I have already purchased seven tickets, one for myself and six for the first six students or teachers to request them.  If more than six students and teachers request tickets, I’ll buy more; but don’t delay your request too long, as these tickets tend to sell fast.

After the film, undoubtedly discussing prehistoric animals, we’ll have a chance to take in the sites of the Seattle Center, and those who would like to can have an early dinner (5:00?), perhaps at Roti.  The prices there are a bit higher than at Bell Thai, but still not very high.  Those wishing to save money can order just appetizers or soup.  I very well may be able to pay for at least part of the students’ dinner, but the amount will depend on how many watch the film and have dinner.

I urge those arriving in private vehicles to park at the Seattle Center.  I like the Fifth Street Garage, a secure place where you can leave your car for ten hours for $12.  From there you can easily walk about eight blocks down Fifth Avenue all the way to Top Pot.

See you on the 22nd!

Stephanus
